Gloucester Cathedral is one of the most significant heritage destinations in the Southwest. An historic place of worship with origins that date back over 1,300 years, we remain open for everyone, 365 days a year.  A living, breathing building full of activity, in 2019 we welcomed over 400,000 visitors from all over the world. During the past few years, we have completed the first phase of a once-in-a-generation project to develop the Cathedral for the 21st Century and laid the foundations to make a make a real difference locally through our social responsibility work.

If you are looking to develop your career within the world of Finance this could be the opportunity for you.  We are offering a fantastic opportunity to come and work for us as part of our experienced Finance team. We are looking for a Finance Apprentice to work towards their AAT qualification. You will be involved in data inputting, updating spreadsheets, cash counting, gift aid claims and supporting the Finance department. You will provide lunchtime cover to the reception, taking phone calls, responding to emails and assisting visitors and staff.

As part of your apprenticeship with Gloucester Cathedral you will get excellent, all round experience working within our Finance department with the full support of the team.  In particular you will get involved with recording and processing the data for both sales and purchase ledgers.  You can also expect to get full involvement in the counting, recording and banking of the cash collected within the Cathedral and the Monks Kitchen Café and Gift Shop and experience of financial audits.   

By the end of your apprenticeship with us we will aim to ensure your successful completion of the AAT Level 2 Diploma in Accounting.
