Gloucester Cathedral is one of the most significant heritage destinations in the Southwest. An historic place of worship with origins that date back over 1,000 years, we remain open for everyone, 365 days a year.  A living, breathing building full of activity, where we welcome over 400,000 visitors from all over the world each year.

We now have an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to come and join our friendly and dedicated team.  This is a busy and interesting role where you will get to support the Cathedral from the inside out, providing essential accounts processing and control.  This role will suit someone who has good experience of working within a busy finance team, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Together with the Senior Finance Officer your key areas of responsibility will be those of purchase invoice and cash processing.  You will also be involved in credit control and bank reconciliations. The work is varied and interesting; the organisation comprises more than a dozen different departments.

As part of the team, you will benefit from a pro rated equivalent to the full time allowance of 25 days holiday, bank holidays and the 3 days between Christmas and the New Year. You will also have staff car parking, occupational sick pay, pension scheme, employee assistance programme, and discounts at the Monk’s Kitchen and the Cathedral Gift Shop.
