A hugely exciting opportunity to come and play a central role in the Cathedral's worship, spiritual life and community
The Lord Chancellor, Bishop and Dean of Gloucester wish to appoint a Canon Precentor and Director of Congregational Development. This is a hugely exciting role, which is central to delivering the next phase of the Cathedral’s vision and strategy as we seek to be ‘in tune with heaven and in touch with daily life.’
As a Residentiary Canon, the Canon Precentor will make a proactive contribution to the Cathedral’s worship, spiritual life and community, motivated by a desire for people to encounter the love of God in Christ through the liturgy, music and worship. As Director of Congregational Development, they will shape and lead the pastoral care of the regular congregation, visitors, and the Cathedral’s team of staff and volunteers, supporting the Cathedral’s continuing recovery from the pandemic and strategising for the growth of the Cathedral congregation as a diverse and inclusive community.
