Giving and Stewardship Advisor (Diocese of Gloucester)

Help develop and implement a variety of approaches to improve levels of giving across the Diocese

Giving and Stewardship Advisor*

Full time, 5 days per week (35 hours per week) or applications welcomed from candidates interested in a job share arrangement.

Band 4 - £31,648 to £37,787 per annum

The Diocese of Gloucester is looking to recruit a Giving and Stewardship Adviser(s) to join the Mission and Ministry Team.  This is a new position that will be key to the Diocese enabling us to support the cost of ministry.

The Advisor(s) will work to develop and implement a variety of approaches to improve levels of giving across the Diocese.  They will be working with Archdeacons, deaneries, and parishes to release the resources necessary to fund mission locally through the teaching and practice of Christian giving in its fullest sense and creating accessible and supportive practical tools.

The Advisor(s) will help us develop the capacity and resource that our parishes and communities need, enabling them to be confident in their stewardship at parish and individual levels, and to foster a culture of generous giving.

The Diocese of Gloucester has a great track record on which to build!  We are the home of the national Parish Giving Scheme, now a separate national body; and from some historic resources we have a Parish Giving Toolbox which remains the primary stewardship resources within the Diocese.

The position will include a variety of home, office, and out and about meetings – sometimes in evenings or at weekends.

We welcome applications for the full-time role or as a job share arrangement.  The hours for the role will be worked on a hybrid basis with a mix of home and office working and will involve regular travel across the diocese.

*Please note that this post carries an Occupational Requirement under the provisions of the Equality Act. The post requires someone – either lay or ordained - with an active Christian faith, able to talk confidently to worshipping communities about finance, and Christian stewardship.
