Finance Assistant

Full time (35 hours per week) 

Band 6 £23,262 - £27,314 per annum

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to come and join the Diocese of Gloucester.  The Finance Assistant role provides day to day administration and processing support as a key member of the Finance Department.

We’re looking for candidates with strong organisational and administrative skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks. You will need to be able to demonstrate you can process information accurately with attention to detail.

A high level of PC literacy is essential, including excellent word processing skills with a good working knowledge of databases and Excel.

The main responsibilities of the Finance Assistant will involve processing the following on Sage 200:

·       Posting purchase ledger invoices;

·       Generating weekly BACS runs;

·       Maintain the GDBF’s utility information for all of the clergy properties – liaising with energy providers, local authorities on council tax and relevant water boards for water rates;

·       Scan incoming post, distribute and file on to Dropbox;

·       Twice weekly banking of cheques and any cash;

·       Other administrative assignments to assist the Finance Team.

·       Please note that a working knowledge of Sage 200 is not essential as training can be given.
