Chief Finance Officer

We're searching for a talented and collaborative CFO

Salary £62,500 per annum

The Role
Providing inspirational leadership, our CFO will be part of the Senior Executive Team and take strategic responsibility for the financial management and direction of the Cathedral. This includes developing long-term financial forecasts and business strategy and overseeing the management of our financial systems and reporting the ensure we are efficient and achieving maximum impact from our resources.

As Deputy, the CFO will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer during a period of transition, ensuring long-term financial health and stability across all areas of our work. This will include a financial change management project to develop an efficient finance function capable of meeting the requirements of a dynamic and business-focussed 21st century cathedral.

The CFO also oversees the Cathedral’s Enterprise company (Gift Shop and Monk’s Kitchen), supporting the Enterprise Manager to increase the net profitability of existing activities with creativity, imagination and business acumen.

You
We are looking for a fully qualified accountant with experience of developing and leading an organisation’s financial performance. Highly analytical, strategic and a great communicator, you enjoy working organisation-wide and having input to high-level decisions. You’re a collaborator with a sense of purpose and fun, who enjoys problem-solving and enabling colleagues. You should have management experience and enjoy developing a driven team.

Experience within a faith or heritage organisation isn’t vital, but you should be eager to learn and adapt to the challenges facing the sector. Importantly, you will share our commitment to enable Gloucester Cathedral as a Beacon of Hope, inspiring people and communities across the city, county and diocese.
