£4,734 per annum

We are excited to be able to invite applications for our part time Bass Lay Clerk vacancy, starting September 2023. 

Music has been at the heart of Gloucester Cathedral’s worship for almost 1,000 years and we offer the very best we can to the glory of God. Music has the ability to transform and connect people through prayer and praise and we strive to promote a greater appreciation of its value by bringing people together to share in stimulating musical experiences.

Music is integral to our daily worship with Choral Evensong being sung by either the Cathedral Choir or the Cathedral Youth Choir every day during school term time, and occasionally by visiting choirs during school holidays.

The part time bass Lay Clerk will enjoy singing at the following services

·       One weekday Evensong per week (generally on a Wednesday) at 17.30

·       Eucharist on Sunday at 10.15

·       Evensong on Sunday at 15.00
